carousel
Everytime she saw the carousel, she jumped up and down: "mommy mommy, daddy daddy" while her hand
pulling our clothes, and her finger pointed right to the spinning flashing
colorful carousel. Her eyes at these moments were no more chinky, they were open
big and bright, like two highbeam lights on our cars, she was waiting with lots
of hope for our response. These Kodak moments were when she could be the most
good and best behave girl on Earth. She would do exactly what we told her to do.
She would eat really really fast, even if usually she dídn't like that food at
all. But it only happened if and only if we promised to let her get on that
carousel! When we said No, a serious disappointed look presented on her face and
her eyes (yes baby, it's always be the end result of a misplaced hope!); then
she slowed everything down! She sat there but she couldn't hear what we said
because her ears were too busy with the music from the carousel. All her
attention was fully stay with that ride. If we asked her to choose between
merry-go-round or daddy's cranberry tea (which she really liked), she thought
really hard, (I know babe, it was a dilemma), and she finally chose
merry-go-round, and never touch daddy's tea!
$2 for one ride. Only $2
could bring her happiness while million dollars still cannot buy an adult's
happiness. However, it wouldn't be her excited long for thing any more if she
doesn't really really want it, or if she got it too easy and often. If she got
it everyday, she would get bored of it, and sometimes she would never understand
why those kids have to be so excited and fasinated about to get on that
ridiculous ride. $2, not much but sometimes we had to say no "Because you were being bad." Only $2 just to
hear her sweetest promise: Mom, I'll be a good girl! Mom, I love you, you're the
best!
Only $2, she was happy, because she got what she wanted. I could
also be the greatest mom in her eyes, BUT I could also totally control her in
the way that I wanted! Everyone was happy. Just so simple like that! kakakka
